Antonella’s research interests lie at the intersection of technology and users, exploring what humans need from technology, how they exploit and are affected by it. This understanding can be used to inform the design of artifacts which are not only easy to use but also improve the overall user experience. She has worked on several aspects of Human-Computer Interaction and Human Factors, including: Socially adept technology, Trust in on-line transactions, Conversational interfaces, On-line communities, Human factors in security systems, Graphical authentication mechanisms, Biometrics, Multimodal communication & natural language, Speech & gesture, Natural language and mouse pointing, Culture and design, E-learning, Usability and ‘new’ usability, Driving behaviour.
