Target: Master students, PhDs students and postdoc young researchers

Given the way academic careers are organised today, young people’s career development depends on their ability to publish high-quality scientific articles in prestigious journals indexed by Scopus and Web of Science, even if they lack the financial resources to cover the publication costs imposed by large publishing houses or predatory journals. The development of academic careers also depends on acquiring qualifications derived from roles such as editor and reviewer for prestigious journals, roles that are normally precluded unless one belongs to scientific groups that are well positioned in the international research context.
IxD&A has always been a bastion of freedom because it implements open access (OA) to its content at no cost to authors (submission and processing of documents). Today, the journal’s editorial board has decided to go beyond this commitment and implement additional initiatives to promote cultural growth and advancement of young people’s academic careers. To this end, it has prepared this “call for involvement and action”, which will allow a select group of PhD students and young researchers to take on the role of Scientific Junior Editor Assistant and join the IxD&A Nursery for “Scientific ReFuL” (Research Future Leaders), where they can grow as junior reviewers and obtain certification for their roles, provided that these latter have been carried out with adequate professionalism.
Freedom, however, also means co-participation, which is necessary for the maintenance and growth of its safeguards.
For this reason, this call also aims to recruit students and young researchers who wish to contribute to the growth of the journal in the role of ‘Social Communication Strategist and Editor’ or ‘Website designer and developer (Word Press environment)’. Technologies evolve, as do ways of communicating, and the scientific field cannot be an exception but, rather, a testing ground for experimenting with new services, functionalities and ways of communicating and transmitting our cultural DNA.

Submission of applications

Candidates are requested to send a complete CV with a list of publications, if applicable, by email to IxDEA.Journal@gmail.com (subject: Call for involvement and action).
The email must indicate the role(s) for which you are applying from among the following:
– Scientific Junior Editor Assistant
– Junior reviewer
– Social Communication Strategist and Editor
– Website designer and developer
The CV should contain and highlight in particular the list of previous experience and skills of specific interest for the role(s) for which you are applying.
Candidates will receive confirmation of receipt of their application and a response within 30 days, as soon as the application has been reviewed by the editorial board.
